subject: 5 Top Ideas To Decorate Your Bedroom [print this page]

A good night sleep - that is exactly what we need to be in great shape in the morning and face all the challenges of the day. But let's not forget - we are all different and each of us relaxes best in different surroundings. Here are 5 ideas for great bedrooms that will suit the sleeping one the best:

1. Separate but together

Separate beds in a shared bedroom is an ideal solution for those who seel proximity and intimacy with another person, but relaxes most efficiently in their own comfy beds. It's a good compromise, when one of the couple is alerted while asleep and awakes easily or has a different lifestyle and day rhythm - goes to sleep and wakes up on different hours than their partner does. You might find beds that can be easily joined - when you feel like sleeping in the arms of your beloved one.

2. Wardrobe bedroom

Joining the function of the bedroom and the wardrobe could be ideal for small apartments where there is not enough space to keep your clothes in a separate room. We can choose big wooden or mirrored closets with mobile doors to save the space. They could cover the whole wall which will not give an impression of having a closet in the bedroom. There are plenty of tall beds - below them there are big drawers for you to keep your clothes in.

3. Working space

If you cannot dedicate a separate room to function as your office you can do it in your bedroom. It's a place no one uses much during daytime. So don't hesitate to install the desk in it. Try to put it close to the window to get as much of natural light as possible. If you can, try to arrange the space so the desk would be somehow hidden and not visible from your bed when you rest or falling asleep. Who would want to think about work on such moments? Use a standing bookshelf or a screen. If your bedroom is decorated in romantic style, you can also fix a curtain or some fabric to separate this part of the room. Think of getting with doors that will allow you to lock the computer and all the mess once you are done with your work for the day.

4.Traditional

A typical double bedroom that is dedicated for sleeping only should not be cluttered with furniture. If we leave some space empty, the room will gain a charming ambience that will make us relax more efficiently. Don't go too wild with accessories either - let this be your oasis for your private thoughts and undisturbed moments of intimacy. Making the space a bit empty could turn out to be a perfect solution to arrange a corner for a cradle once the newborn baby arrives. And when it happens...

5. Baby's room

When you have limited space in your home and are expecting a baby, sometimes the only solution is to share your bedroom with a newcomer. You don't have to repaint the whole room navy-blue or pink. You can find a good compromise between the child needs and your own. Just like with having an office in the bedroom, use the same tricks and separate the room to have two different spaces. Experiment with light - it can change the place completely depending on the time of day or your needs. Use pastel shades of your favorite colours.
