subject: Special Forces And Special Operations Gear Are Becoming Popular In And Out Of The Service [print this page]

The special forces are small, highly trained units of soldiers that operate out of each branch of the United States Military and other countries' militaries around the world. Most members of these elite teams are trained to perform a specific job, like demolitions or first aid. Each member of one of these teams will also be outfitted with different special forces and special operations gear that aids them in covert operations.

Operators and special forces platoons operate on a higher level of secrecy because their missions are both highly dangerous and covert. Examples of these groups in the U.S. Armed Services are the Navy Seals and the Green Berets. Around the world, the British unit is called the S.A.S, the Special Air Service. To join one of these units will require some of the most intensive training there is in the Armed Services.

Once a person becomes a member of one of these elite teams, they can be outfitted with some special forces gear. These items will change from mission to mission depending on weather, mode of transportation, time of the year, and location of targets. Different types of gear include swimming fins, different colored camouflages, binoculars, varieties of survival gear, knives, guns, and scuba gear.

For the average citizen, the special forces are somewhat of an enigma because the general public is not informed about their operations. However, thanks to the bustling movie industry, the gear that these units use is available to anyone who needs them. Different special forces gear can be used for a variety of reasons in the private sector like for home security, hunting, and for SWAT team operations.

Some examples of people or groups that can utilize this tactical gear are hunters, SWAT teams, and other private security companies. Private security companies are just a nicer way of calling these groups mercenaries. Thanks to the end of the Cold War, many special forces units fell out of a job and now can be hired by private businesses for their own use. Governments have also begun using these groups too.

Operations gear and the special forces go hand and hand because without these teams, these items would never have developed. With spill over and the dissolution of these covert operations teams, a lot of ex military can end up in the private sector still using the very same gear. For people at home, obtaining special forces and special operations gear will enhance home security or add some punch to your hunting gear.
