subject: Data Entry work from Home can be tricky [print this page] Author: Paul Ritchie Author: Paul Ritchie
Like any other job a data entry job that you can do from home requires discipline, attention, a certain level of speed so that you can finish the project on time and last but not least accuracy. There are several causes for inaccurate data. If we are looking at the person that actually types in the data some of the reasons why his or her typed document have inaccuracies can be the pressure of finishing the project on time, the lack of a spell checker, or the desire of making more money in a shorter period of time. Luckily enough all of these causes can be eliminated or drastically improved in a short period of time. The first thing to consider when accepting a project is the volume of the data entry and the deadline of the project. To get over the pressure you have several options. You can take part of the project, you can share it with someone else you know in the data entry field or you can talk to the company that needs your service and try to extend the deadline. A lot of time asking for a few more days will prove to be the best choice you can make. To avoid pressure while working in the data entry field or any other field for that matter, do not leave your work for the last moment. A lot of things that you cannot control, like for example a power shortage, can happen. The next reason for data inaccuracies can be the absence of a spell check program. This however is not too plausible since even the data entry companies will require you to have one before you join their program. However if this is the case get a spell check program as soon as possible or get the one you have working. Having spelling mistakes and typos might end your data entry career before you even get a paycheck. As funny as it might sound the desire of making too much money from tour data entry job can be one of the causes of data inaccuracies. However this is valid especially if you are paid according to the amount of forms you can fill in during a certain period of time. If for example the data entry program you join advertises that you can type in a form every 10 minutes and you can make 10 dollars per form, you are already computing that you can make about 200 dollars in 3 hours. But what happens f you want to make 600 dollars in the same three hour frame time? No one is saying that it cannot happen, but the reality is that you have to set realistic income levels especially if you are a beginner in the field. Remember that any new beginning is a little bit difficult and do not get discouraged. As long as you learn how to fix inaccuracies, at least those that can be blamed on you, you will be alright.About the Author:
