subject: Housecall Veterinarian Benefits [print this page]

There isn't a pet owner around who enjoys the task of taking their beloved pet to the vet. Your pet gets very stressed out when you take him out of the home. The time it takes for you to get them into their cage stresses you out. Both of you end up miserable from the whole experience. It has to be done, though. What else can you do?

Well, what if you had someone who made veterinarian house calls?

A housecall veterinarian has the advantage of offering many conveniences to pet owners while still providing the same level of service that a traditional animal hospital does. Having one come to your home eliminates transportation stress and waiting room anxiety experienced by many pets in a trip to a veterinarian's office. Your animal will much be happier and more comfortable. A mobile veterinarian housecall can be used to provide veterinary care for multiple animals at once, thus eliminating the need to transport them all to the clinic. This is ideal if you have several pets, as you won't have to worry about transporting them all yourself.

While it's just plain common sense that a housecall vet is good on the pets involved, it should also be said that it helps many pet owners as well. A lot of time will be saved for you, as you won't have to go to the trouble of chasing down your pets, caging them, taking them to the clinic, waiting for them to get treated, and then driving back home again. There is much greater freedom in scheduling appointments with a housecall veterinarian than with a traditional clinic. Not only that, but you'll receive extra attention and time spent with the vet than you would in the office. You won't have to contend with the hurried atmosphere of the veterinarian's clinic.

An animal should be examined in his own environment. This reduces the stress the animal is receiving from his surroundings, revealing the true condition for the vet to see. In addition, there is a lower risk of being exposed to diseases that may be floating around in a hospital waiting room. If you have very young or very old animals you want to take extra special care with this. If your animal has a compromised immune system, you really want to consider treating him at home.

The next time your animal (Or animals) need veterinary care, make sure it's from a housecall vet. Not only will your pet get great treatment, he won't have to leave his home to receive it!
