Despite some reports of temporary disruption, BlackBerry users have been able to access the Messenger service on the evening of Friday, hours after the kingdom had threatened to cut off the difficult situation that could be used to harm national security.
A source with direct knowledge of the negotiations said talks between the Canadian manufacturer Research In Motion and the Saudi telecoms regulator had advanced.
"We are testing technical solutions with RIM servers ... to be exact," the source told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
