subject: Simple Natural Acne Treatment Suggestions [print this page] You don't have to rely on fancy acne treatments from the pharmacy that will cost you an arm and a leg. Instead it is time to consider some tried and true natural remedies. If you ask me, they often work a lot better then the artificial stuff and are much gentler on your body.
Some of these old-fashioned treatments are appropriate for any skin and ance type, while others (especially the tonics and masks we will discuss a little further down) will work for one person but not another. The trick is to try various ones and see which ones your skin responds to best.
I'll share a few of those natural treatment options with you here and hope you will give them a try and find the one that is just right for you and gives you that clear, radiant skin.
Start by watching your diet. Keep a food journal and cut out various foods that are known acne "triggers"like chocolate, greasy food etc. and see which ones seem to make a difference. Try to eliminate those culprits from your diet as much as possible. Make an effort to also drink as much water as possible. The 8 glasses rule is a good start for most of us. It will help keep you hydrated and flush toxins out of your system. Proper skin care is of course also important.
With all that said, it's time to share some actual natural treatment options with you. Below you will find a list of quite a few suggestions. Give them a try and see which ones work best for you. Try each for about a week and again, keep a journal so you can see which ones your body responds to best.
After you wash your face in the morning it is a good idea to use some sort of antibacterial toner. My favorite natural option is Witch Hazel which can be found online or at natural food stores. It will prevent bacteria from entering your pores, which is one of the main causes for acne. A paste made from water and plain old baking soda will help treat acne inflammation right away. Apply it to your face and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. The baking soda will help regulate your skins ph balance. Rinse the baking soda mask off with plenty of lukewarm water and gently dab your skin dry.
At night and throughout the day after my morning skin routine, I like to use apple cider vinegar. Just put it on a cotton ball or a piece of paper towel and dab it on the affected areas. The vinegar will dry out the acne and also help reduce the appearance of scars over time.
Alove Vera does wonders in clearing up acne. It seems to work even better when it used in conjunction with Tea Tree Oil. I like to get Aloe Vera gel and then mix in a little tea tree oil before applying it to my face. I have been using this combination for over a year now and when combined with exercise, propper diet and staying well hydrated it keeps my acne at bay better than anything else.
I hope you will give these natural acne treatments a try and find the ones that are working best for you. It may take a little bit of trial and error, but believe me it is all well worth it in the end.
