The first step in getting rid of mould or moisture problems like mould or black mould is to identify and remove the source of the problem. It could be a water leak or areas with high humidity or a leak behind a wall or appliance. It can grow very quickly so you need to sort it as soon as you can.

You then need to seal the room with heavy plastic sheets or covers over the openings and doorways. Duct tape can work well over the areas as well as long as it wont leave marks when removed. You need to make sure the dust cannot escape into other areas where you cant clean it. An exhast fan will help with this too.

Use sponge and soap to clean away all th emouldyou can see. Make sure you dampen the area a little otherwise when you clean the spores will become airbone again which could make the problem start all over again.

Clean the entire area with disinfectant which will kill any remaining spores of mould and clean all the areas in which you could see mould to ensure they are killed. The spores are tiny and could remain on surfaces where you can't see them, so be very thorough. Use a disinfectant or speciality product for the job. Bleach may discolour the area though.

Put everything you used in a heavy duty bag and everything that had come into contact with the spores or surfaces, then take them out quickly and to an outdoor bin.

Now your black mould problem should be solved, this can seem like a daunting job but its quite dooable but will take a long time. So always consider getting the professionals in to give you a hand and ensure the black mould is gone for good.
