Let Matching Shirts Be Part Of Your Valentine's Day Gift
Winter is the season of rejoicing, celebrating
, giving and receiving. Kicking off with Halloween in late October, the festivities continue right through to Valentine's Day on 14th February. To bring the festive season to a stylish end, gift your loved one a nicely crafted shirt, that proclaims your love for each other and also becomes useful for the summer to come.
If you are in a new relationship, this is all the more reason to stock up on the clothes and accessories available for couples. Jewelry such as necklaces, pendants, bracelets or armbands can be matched artfully, creating a tasteful look and letting each one's jewelry complement the other's. Jewelry is also extremely popular with women in gifts for all seasons and occasions, so if you buy yourself a wristband and gift your lover a matching one, you will definitely be doing something very right.
If you secretly want matching shirts for yourself and your lover, winter is when you can indulge that wish. Find out your lover's size before buying clothes, though, or at least have an accurate estimate available for the shopkeeper. This will ensure that your lover can wear the shirt right out of the box, instead of rushing to the store for an exchange. Matching shirts could be identical, but if you think that's too cheesy there are many other options in the market.
Some people like making information and wit available only to people who spend some time thinking about it. Instead of having your togetherness announced via visual foghorn, you could go for a subtler statement - shirts featuring characters from the same or similar TV shows, or players from the same football team, or simply shirts in the same color but with different love messages.
If you feel really geeky, you could opt for two shirts, each containing one half of a well-known formula. The most obvious would be "E" on one half, and "mc2" on another. In a similar way, you could get shirts with split famous sayings or images on them. While these shirt combinations definitely have their share of mush value, they also tickle people's funny bones - throughout the year, not just on Feb Fourteenth.
On the other hand, you can shelve the geekiness for the time being, and go for shirts that look perfectly fine on their own, but reveal a hidden message when seen with the other half of the pair. An "I'm already here" shirt is cute on its own, but gains added value when seen beside another shirt saying "I'm waiting for you". Locks and keys, "black" and "berry", "beautiful" and "handsome" - all these are just a few among the many types of shirts made available for couples near Valentine's Day.
Spoiled for choice yet? No one says you have to stick to one pair of shirts for Valentine's Day. Expensive chocolate can be had at any time of the year, but this is the only time when you see the markets buzzing with clothes that turn you and your partner into the fashion statement of the day!
