Make sure that you sign up for all online job websites in the hospitality industry. Newspapers are a thing of the past. People don't advertise there too much anymore. It is cheaper and quicker to post a job online. You can even get alerts from these sites when someone has just placed a new job that matches your criteria.2. Network to everyone. Even if you think that somebody that you know only works in one area unrelated to your desires you don't know who they might know. The more people that have an idea of your qualifications and jobs you are looking for they will be on the lookout for you. You can literally have dozens of people actively helping you in your job search. Make sure that you provide them with an email address and cell phone number in case they need to pass along your information.3. Your resume' needs to be up to date. Any jobs, education, associations, or activities that you've done that are relevant to your job search should be listed. If you haven't completed this in a while then you should be ashamed. For the future you should always keep a copy of your resume on file and on your computer just in case your computer crashes or you lose your paperwork.4. If you do get an interview you should be prepared. If possible try and get a friend or family member to hold a mock interview with you so that you can practice your interview techniques. It will provide you with more experience and something else to put on your resume'. There are many that specialize in the hospitality field. Employers are the ones that pay the fee when you are hired.8. Make sure you follow up with the company after you've had an interview. Send a thank you letter. Also if you aren't hired you might ask them the reason why not. This will help you to improve yourself for the next interview.9. Many of the larger hospitality companies are in always the main target for job hunters. You can be different and locate some of the smaller companies. The same goes for smaller towns. They are often overlooked and won't have as much competition.10. Make sure that you are knowledgeable on any potential employer when you go to your interview.
