2 Essential Online Dating Profile Pics Most People Overlook
Profile pictures are essential to your online dating success, and this article focuses on the two types that most people overlook. In order get the maximum number of responses from women, there are 6 photos you need to include: a headshot, you in another country or traveling somewhere notable in the US, a full body shot, you in a leadership position, in a social setting with attractive friends, and at least one with you doing something unique.

You in a social setting having fun with attractive friends
The idea here is to let the women know you're sociable, have attractive friends, and that people like being around you. You want to give the impression that you are well liked. Even though the stigma of internet dating is just about gone, there is still going to be some worry that people online aren't socially adept. You need to prove that you have a circle of friends and you're not some psycho Unabomber or a serial killer. And yes, I know the majority of serial killers are good socially, but the media doesn't portray them that way and we don't think of them that way. So you have to put up a picture of you having fun with friends in order to project that you're socially aware.
The best thing here is to have a candid shot where everyone is smiling or laughing, even better if they are looking at you so it appears you are the cause of the good time. A shot of everyone looking at the camera and smiling genuine smiles is good too. If you have a few good shots of you with a group of well dressed, normal looking friends in different social settings, put up more than one in this area.
You doing something unique
You need to have at least one shot (preferably more) of you doing something unique or you in a unique place. For example, I have a picture of me flying my paraglider with an eagle in the same thermal. There is another one of me where I'm eating live bamboo worms with half of them sticking out of my mouth.
In about 20% of the emails I've received from profiles using those photos, the women commented on them. It gives them an excuse to contact me, and that's all we want to do--give them an excuse.
What you want is to give the woman something that is really easy to comment on so it seems natural for them to start a conversation with you.
No matter what the email says, when you get an email from someone, what they are really saying is that they're interested in you. Sometimes women are interested but don't know what to say. They feel stupid or just don't want to invest the time to read your whole profile, think about what you're really saying, and then come up with something meaningful to say back.
They want easy, so give them easy. Include at least two pictures that make it simple for them to comment to you about.
