1.) Your ex has all the power in the relationship, and you haven't figured out how to shift that dynamic back in your favor.

When your ex dumps you, they immediately gain all the power in the relationship. They made the decision to leave, and when they know you still want to be with them and would do just about anything to make that possible, they retain the power and the ball is completely in their court.

It's obvious to your ex when they have control over something you desperately want. They'll often make you jump through a lot of hoops to show you deserve another chance. They like to see you squirm and they want you to feel responsible for the breakup.

When your ex knows you desperately want them back, then a lot more options open up for them. They can date other people and know if it doesn't work out, you'll still be there waiting for them. They can take full advantage of you and the situation.

To reverse this situation, create space. Cut off contact with your ex. Go out and do your own thing. Maintain a happy, healthy, independent life without them. When you give the appearance that you're perfectly ok with or without your ex, then their entire mindset changes because they now have a real fear of losing you forever.

Creating space and maintaining an independent lifestyle also keeps you from taking actions that will cause you to push your ex further away. It keeps you from feelings of panic and desperation so you won't be tempted to beg, plead, repeatedly apologize, do favors, or buy gifts to win your ex back.

To win back an ex, become less available. People always want what they can't have. Once you show your ex you're not just sitting around waiting for them to contact you, then you once again become the attractive, desirable person they fell in love with in the first place.
