2 Things You Must Know About Your Body To Burn Fat & Lose Weight

In order to burn the fat off your body, you will have to eat the right proportions and exercise regularly

. Every day your body will burn a certain number of calories on it's own. Of those calories, only about 20-30% of them will be burned by the activities you do. But a whopping 60-70% of the calories you burn every day are consumed by your resting metabolic rate (RMR) while your inactive throughout the day.

If your RMR accounts for 60-70% of the calories you burn every day, it would make sense to focus your efforts on increasing this number, right? Of course! And by doing so, you will train your body to burn more calories while spending less time in the gym! This is the secret to losing tummy fat fast.

Here are a 2 things that have a direct affect on your resting metabolic rate and how many calories your body will consume on "autopilot."

1. Your lean muscle mass directly affects your RMR. As you build lean muscle on your frame, your RMR will increase as long as you retain that muscle, making it easier for you to burn fat. This is one reason why weight training is so important if you want to lose that tummy fat quickly.

2. Lifting weights will also raise your RMR temporarily after each workout. How long and how much it is elevated depends on the intensity of the workout and what kind of exercises you focus on. When you perform a hard workout, your muscles will break down. After you're done with your workout, your body automatically starts rebuilding those muscles by directing energy toward them.

During this healing process, your body will burn a lot of extra calories for you. If you workout at an intense pace for an hour or so, you can expect your RMR to be elevated for 1-2 days after each workout.
