This summer will see underwear taking centre stage in more ways than one, the big trend as showcased at the spring/summer shows was underwear as outerwear. Come autumn it will be returning to being underwear and the bright summer vibes will be replaced with dark colours and heavy glamorous fabrics. The overall look for autumn/winter is luxury, detailing and retro inspired shapes.

Retro Moving Forward

Vintage style underwear has been a prominent feature in underwear for the last few seasons and it looks set to continue into the Autumn/Winter collections. Mirroring the style on the catwalks underwear will be structured to give the body a clear and sexy curvy shape. Although it has been said of the last few seasons curves really are set to be big this year. This is good news for all those ladies out there that have a killer shape and cant wait to show it off. Nude fabrics are being heavily outlined with black to give it a structured and sophisticated look.

Grunge Glam

90s fashion has been threatening a comeback for sometime now and after the 80s managed to make a successful return including shoulder pads we knew it was only a matter of time. One of the key fabrics of the 90s was lace, not the delicate styles of yesteryear but heavy black lace and this is one of the key looks for autumn/winter Lingerie. Bras, pants and bodysuits in black and deep purple lace are set to be key looks come the cooler months.

Another New Black

Every year there is a new black, even though black itself never goes out of fashion, and this year is no different. This time around Navy is the new black, it is going to be the underwear colour choice for the new season, the key to making this a sexy trend is the fabric used. Im sure some of you are thinking navy gym knickers and already deciding to steer clear of this trend but swap synthetic fabrics for silk and satin and you have beautiful lingerie more reminiscent of a dark evening rather than gym class. Trust us come December you will have some sexy navy underwear!

Daring to Bare

Sheer fabrics are going to be big news despite the turn in the weather and this is going to be huge in underwear, barely there bras and pants that leave you feeling a little risqu are a hot choice. Cheeky bras with peek-a-boo cut outs and intricate construction look like being a big trend but these might be more appropriate for a day at home rather than a day in the office.
