2011's Most Promising Hong Kong Exotic Car Coupes

They're light ..

They're light ... they're fast ... they look delicious and if you buy the right model, they're absolutely thrilling to drive! The coupe body style is undoubtedly the one favored by manufacturers of the world's most sought-after cars. The smaller body allows Hong Kong exotic car manufacturers to improve speed and fuel efficiency by keeping the weight down; aerodynamic design features have also become accepted as the 'ideal' way to style a sports car in Hong Kong. Today we check out how the idea of the coupe is moving forward in 2011, from the new Hong Kong Mercedes-Benz CL-Class coupe onto other equally heart-pounding and beautiful rides.

Hong Kong Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Coupe

The new CL-Class model was released on the 24th of December, as a Christmas present of sorts to dedicated fans of the Hong Kong luxury car brand. The appearance has been upgraded for contemporary sensibilities, but it isn't only the exterior of this Hong Kong sports car that has changed. When you buy Mercedes-Benz new CL-Class coupe, you get:

- A re-designed 435 hp V8 bi-turbo engine

- BlueEFFICIENCY features that create a combined 9.5L per kilometer; NEDC figures show savings of up to 23% over the older Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Hong Kong sports car and a drop in CO2 emissions from 288 grams per kilometer to 224 grams per kilometer.

The BlueEFFICIENCY package includes some very innovative strategies to reduce fuel consumption in this new model Hong Kong sports car. There is an energy efficient control system for the alternator, air conditioner, fuel pump and power steering system. A proprietary ECO start/stop function adds to the efficiency, as do the low rolling resistance tires and the Active Body Control system. The Hong Kong luxury car manages to incorporate all these efficient features without compromising on power, though - the bi-turbo engine is around 12% more powerful than the older model CL-Class Hong Kong vehicles, but with 0.8L less displacement. This means it will do 0-100km/hr in 4.9 seconds, beating the previous model's time by half a second. A fantastic choice of new coupe for 2011!

2011 Mazda RX-8

Some said that the first RX8 would be Mazda's last foray into Hong Kong sports car coupeshowever the ongoing popularity of the only widely available rotary engine car has meant that the RX8 has been reinvented for 2011. The RX8 doesn't have the impressive efficiency figures of Mercedes new CL-Class, getting around 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 on the highway. Most RX8s come with a limited slip differential for a lot of fun on the track, luxury interior trim and everything else you'd expect.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe

These coupes are not quite in the class of Mercedes-Benz's new CL-Class coupe, but they do make for a fantastic everyday drive. The 3.8 Technology package makes these Hong Kong sports cars like a mobile office, with a fantastic audio system, navigation, Bluetooth, smart cruise control, and more.
