3 Common Mma Training Mistakes

As a mixed martial artist, you need to keep a balance between your training and your health

. Too much of rest is equally dangerous to too much of workout when it comes to mixed martial arts.

In this article we will discuss about three common mistakes made by beginners who want to participate in tournaments.

Hard workouts without rest:

A beginner, out of enthusiasm, may want to push beyond the limits when it comes to workouts. He might do hard workouts without taking any rest to allow the muscles to relax. This is not a good practice. It will do more harm than good to the person's fitness. A martial artist needs to give a minimal amount of time for relaxation of the muscles to set in their places after a workout.

Poor Diet:

Not eating foods that are rich in protein and carbohydrates can cause the martial artist to feel fatigue within a few minutes of workouts. As you undergo your fitness training, there will be lot of body tear down. You need to have a balanced diet to supply your muscles with the essential nutrients to help them rebuild and recover from damage. Make sure you include bread, fish, nuts, eggs and milk in your diet to supply your body with carbs, proteins and healthy fats. Drink adequate water to keep your body dehydrated at all times. Besides that consuming water also helps in the digestion of food.

Concentrating on only one area of training:

In order to be an effective martial artist you need to develop your skills in all areas of combat. Some martial artist will focus too much on fitness training and do less or altogether ignore balance training and some do the opposite. Both of the above methods will have its consequences when facing an opponent. For instance, the person who ignores the balance training will have a tough time when the opponent uses grappling techniques and the person who did too much balance training will find difficulty with enduring the punches and kicks.
