I will not give you a step by step guide on useful tips which can help get your marriage back on the right track. First of, I must say that this will not be the easiest task you have ever completed in your life, but it will be one of the most worth while because no-one wants to go through the heartbreak of divorce.

Step 1; Talk to each other about your feelings

This is the most important step to saving your marriage, because both of you need to be on the same page this means expressing your opinions and views with each other without pointing the finger and turning into another full-scale argument. Learn to let each other speak in turn, so one person is doing the speaking and the other one is doing the listening. This is about mutual respect, don't speak over each other. Let the other one be heard.

You may both find you will have different opinions on sections of the relationship, try to understand why the other person is feeling that way and how you can help prevent it. Simply talking to each other can open up so many door-ways and encourages honesty and trust in the marriage and I cannot stress how important both these are in a marriage.

Step 2; Have special one-on-one date nights

This helps make your other half feel loved and cared about. This can be as simple as making them a candle-lit dinner of their favourite meal or going to the movies together as long as you make the point of doing something together as this will help you both to bond again and show each other how much you care. Make sure it is only you and your partner no children or friends to interrupt your bonding time.

Make sure your date night is about your partner if you are arranging it, make it something that they like it doesn't always have to be about what you like to do. This shows your willing to do stuff that makes them happy.

Step 3; Write them a heart-filled letter

I find this method one of the most effective to saving a marriage; it's all about keeping the spark alive. Often when you are married for a long time, this spark can often die which is when the marriage begins to go on the rocks because both partners are becoming bored of the same old routine and feel like they are going no-where.

Making a point of writing a heart-filled letter to your other-half will truly show them your inner feelings for them. People in marriages often feel that their partner knows how they feel about them, without saying anything or opening up about it every once in a while. These letters can be one-offs or become part of your routine. In the letter tell them exactly how much they mean to you, and how you could never life without them. This will certainly spice-up your marriage. You can either post the letter to your address for your loved one or leave it sitting somewhere in the house where they often are.

All these three steps are simple but extremely effective. Remember the most important part of maintaining a healthy marriage is love and affection Learn to show those more and you will be back on your way to a happy marriage.

This is not an over-night process; it will take time and effort. But the results will show almost instantly as you begin to see your marriage get back on track and avoid divorce.
