You can get what you aspire to have if you are willing to work for it
, maintain a positive attitude and not give up. There are three specific keys that will help you get what you desire.
1-Get Clear
In order to get what you want you must first get clear on what it is that you truly want. That is the foundation for successful goal setting. You have to see it before you can have it. The clearer you are about what it is that you want the better prepared you are to actually accomplish or achieve your goals.
2-Put It To Paper
Once you know what your true desire is, then you should write it down. That is your goal. Something magical happens when you write your goal down. Take the time to actually think on paper. Write your goal out so that you can look at it on a regular basis. We work better when we constantly remind ourselves of what it is that we are trying to achieve.
3- Make a Plan and Work Your Plan
After you have written it down then you should determine which steps need to be taken in order to obtain that goal. It helps to make your plan as detailed as possible. However don't sweat it if you cannot think of every possible step.
Next, arrange those steps chronologically in the order that it would take for you to reach your long term aspiration.
What you have just done in this valuable exercise is laid the foundation for your game plan. You now have a list of the short term goals. Accomplishment of these short term goals will lead to you hitting your long term goal.
Next, formulate an action plan for hitting your short term goals. In other words sit down and plan your work. After you've developed your plan then set about working your plan.
As you work your plan you will successfully hit each one of your short term goals. Upon completion of your entire set of short term goals you will hit your long term goal in the process.
And to insure your success read over your plan on a regular basis and put your goals down on 3 x 5 index cards. Carry these cards around with you. Look at your cards regularly throughout the day.
