Of the three ways people use Google for money, Google Adwords (or PPC) is the quickest way to get immediate traffic to ones website(s). Google Adwords is pretty simple. An advertiser selects keywords to bid on (based on what their prospective customers might search for with Google), each time those keywords are searched, the advertisers ad will display under the ads section of the search results (right side), each time that ad is clicked, the advertiser pays Google. This is the service that Google makes the most money from. Done correctly, a marketer can make A LOT of money very quickly this way, done poorly, a marketer can give a lot of money to Google and not make a dime. Google Adwords, or Pay Per Click (PPC), can be used to increase traffic to your existing ecommerce store or to a site promoting affilaite products. It is amazing just how much money is being made by some through Google Adwords (also known as PPC).

Many people have heard of Google Adsense, it was once a very profitable system. As opposed with Adwords, which you pay for, with Adsense, Google pays you. To use Google Adsense, you must place a code (you get from Google) on your site that allows Google to display ads relevant to the content of your site(s). Each time one of your site visitors clicks one of these ads, it generates money for you. In order for adsense to be profitable and make you a significant amount of money, you MUST have traffic and that traffic must click your ads. In my experience, this services has been over hyped by "guruhs" as an easy way to make money from Google. There is really not a 'turn key' model out there for Adsense, any site selling you otherwise is most likely a Scam. A website must be unique and have a strong traffic base to have any chance of being profitable. The more successful model for Adsense is content/information sites that have a lot of traffic. An example being Squidoo or HubPages where content is ever growing.

Really, the best way to make money from Google, is Search Engine Optimization and Organic traffic. Having your site show up on the top of the first page of search results is extremely powerful and can boost a lot of money into your business. Getting a highly searched term on the first page of Google Search results can drive a HUGE amount of Traffic to your site. How easy, or hard this is to acomplish depends on the search term, the level of competition for your chosen keyword prase, how well your site is optimized for that term, how well your competition is optimized for that term and so on. There are a number of key things that must be considered when developing and optimizing a site (or post) for a chosen keyword phrase, this process is called SEO. This is easily an entire topic unto itself, so I won't get into SEO here. What is cool about this method of making money from Google is that there are A LOT of keyword prases that are just not well optimized by others. If you search that term and look for how well they (competing search results) utilize the different applications of SEO you will often find that very few sites are well optimized. What this means is that if you learn and apply the principals of SEO to your sites, you could end up on the first page of Google search for highly searched keyword phrases. Organic traffic is amazing, it is free, it can come in mass volumes and it can make you money from Google 24 hours a day.
