3 Sure Fire Ways To Get Attention WITHOUT Google
So many clients ask us what other ways might be available
, besides Google Adwords (and Yahoo/Bing) to get noticed, and get the word out, that a website exists.
While it's true that search engine marketing brings in precise targeted traffic, that was at that moment looking for what your site does or sells...There are other options. Here's three we thought of today:
1) Yell out your window.
Depending on where you are a lot of people (ie: perspective customers) could hear you!
If you are in a city, then this plan could work well. The thing is you have to be able to yell loud enough to be heard over the sound of peoples conversations, car horns honking, and possibly (depending on which city you're in) random gun fire.
But if you can really "let it rip" (we mean you need to bellow like Fred Flintstone), you might be able to shout out your websites name, enough, to the general public passing by, that it could "stick".
2) Run onto a baseball field during a major league baseball game, carrying a sign with your URL on it.
This one is a little riskier than the first one was. For one thing, you might get decked by an irate "left fielder". Also if you're in Philadelphia, getting tasered is a strong possibilty. And wherever you are, you may get arrested.
But we are sure, that the 30-50,000 members of the "captive" audience you've just risked your life for...Won't soon forget you!
Disclaimer: Beware, that you're probably not going to get any free TV advertising using this plan. So if that is your goal, you can stop right now with going forward. Baseball telecasts have taken a strong stand in recent years against showing on TV, the "guy running on the field". They stopped showing these people so that no one gets the idea that running around on the field, interrupting a baseball game, is going to get them TV time ("jail time" is more likely).
3) Open a corner Lemonade stand.
Yeah, we know this idea is a little old fashioned, but it's worked for generations. The "Little Rascals" were already running a "brisk" lemonade business back in the 30's! And there were a lot less people in the U.S back then!
Here's a good business model for the Lemonade stand :
Give the customer 2 choices. One choice is to pay you $1 (or whatever you are charging) for a cup of ice cold Lemonade. The other is to drink the Lemonade for free, BUT they have to instead listen to you do a short (let's say 3 minute) pitch/presentation about your website.
We guarantee you 2 things:
1 - They'll never forget you.
2 - Roughly 100 percent of your customers will choose to pay the $1.
Of course there is a 4th option...
You could wake up to reality, and understand, that if you want to get your website noticed, you need to be on page 1 of Google (and/or Yahoo/Bing)...And that you need to find someone who can do that for you, quickly and cheaply. Oh, and by the way, you just did.
