Start at the bottom of the page and read up to the top. You will be surprised at mistakes that you catch that you didn't know were there when you proofread the first time.
Once you have done all of these steps your article is ready to submit to the article directories. Your goal should be to submit it to a handful of the top directories online.
This will do you more good than mass submitting it to many directories that people or search engines do not visit on a regular basis.
