3 Tips for Composing Your First Internet Dating Email

Your first online dating email has to count. Online dating - as the name suggests - revolves around initial "virtual" contact and courting on dating websites or other Internet forums like Facebook, and only then by real life encounters. Naturally, the winners in this e-game of love are those who can cut to the chase the quickest.

In other words - Internet dating success hinges on your ability to convert your emails, texts and other electronic interaction into dates in the real world. 1. Use an attention grabbing subject line

Whatever you do, make sure to avoid the old cliche opening lines. Making the subject line "Hi" is about one of the lamest imaginable, yet many online dating losers are still persisting in using pathetic subject lines. Other poor choices are "Hello", and "Nice profile". These three should be consigned to the e-dustbin of internet dating history.

Try and think up something original about her or him. The best way to get a response via the subject line is to put the focus on the other person, not yourself. You can always get some cute ideas from their profile photos. For example, compare her eyes to those of some famous and desirable person. For example: "Wow, your eyes are just like XYZ's!" Or, perhaps, make mention of what they are wearing in the headline: "I love your dress, could I iron it for you?"

2. Give your own contact details ASAP

One thing that tends to work is to "dare" the woman or man you are interested in to pick up the phone to call you. This approach has an amazing effect, and if you do get a call, the chances of it leading to a date are pretty high. If not, then at least it shows you are serious about making contact, and if they don't have the nerve to call you first, they might provide you will a cell phone number for you to call them. Statistically, this approach will work better for women seeking men than the other way around, although some ballsy chicks have no problem picking up the phone to call a cheeky guy who puts it all on the line.

3. Be confident but not agrresively cocky

Following from the above - assertiveness and confidence are respected traits in both men and women, but do not go overboard. Make her or him aware that you would love to hear from them, but it's not the end of the world for you if they ignore you. On the other hand, don't paint yourself as God's gift to women (or men).
