To fix this, just click on START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > DISK DEFRAGMENTER and then proceed to clean your hard drives. This will speed up your PC a lot. Clean Out The Registry One of the biggest causes of a slow system is a part called the 'registry'. This is a big database which stores all the settings and options for Windows, allowing your system to remember and recall a number of different options such as your desktop wallpaper and even your latest emails. However, this database is constantly becoming corrupt and damaged, making Windows run slower as it struggles to read the settings it needs to keep your system running as quickly and smoothly as possible.
