HB 517 Signed: 340B Virtual Drug Inventory Enactment
CaptureRx announces Florida Governor Scott signed House Bill 517 on April 6, 2012, which allows pharmacies to leverage virtual drug inventories for 340B drug program participation. A separate physical drug inventory will no longer be required per the legislations enactment. As confirmed to CaptureRx by Mike McQuone, R.Ph., M.S., C.Ph., Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Inc., HB 517 is expected to amend Chapter 499 Florida Drugs, Devices and Cosmetics Program. The Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) will notice rule development for 61N-1 (Florida Administrative Code) deleting the requirements for the separate physical inventory.
