3D Movies: Will the Fad Stay On?

Technological advancement in the making of 3D movies has almost changed the world of cinema. Earlier, quite a few movie makers thought of making a 3D flick or a movie with some scenes using the technology. But in the recent years, there has been a kind of avalanche of movies with total or partial usage of the technology.

What makes a 3D movie attract people towards the cinema theatres? Surely a wrongly made movie with almost no art can't bring in crowd. But what if the film is perfectly filmed with pure perfection of the art involved, even then why it is the three dimensionally made films that does better than those made in 2D?

It is the thrill, the newness, the freshness of the experience that 3D movies give to the viewers. A well made 2D movie with beautiful art and perfect story does become a hit but still one can't compare its success with the success that the 3D movies gain. This doesn't mean that two dimensionally created movies lack art but they surely miss the thrill, the vibes, and the freshness that three dimensionally created movies offer.

It is like adding different variety of spices in your food. Food that you eat is perfect but since you have become quite used to the spices used and the taste that comes out because of them, you hardly enjoy eating it anymore. But a slight change in the spices and the cooking technique makes the same food delicious once again. This is what 3D does to the movies that otherwise appear bland.

Movies like Avatar, Chronicles of Narnia, Despicable Me, etc have been really popular among the audiences and have even made the technology popular. Now every directory dreams of creating a second Avatar that would have the capability of getting an instant success at the box office. 3D movies are seen as a formula for creating a big bash at the box office but sadly, it is not always true, sometimes the technology can't prove itself a savior if not used rightly at the right point.

Although, presently the 3D movies are getting enough attention because of their newness, this won't go on forever. If movie makers simply use the technique without being aware of technical correctness of the use, the movies won't be liked by people any longer. But this has already taken over the thoughts and the concern of some of the filmmakers who have started researching on it. Therefore, we can be sure that movies will keep using 3D technology.
