4 Unusual Perfumes That Would Be Awesome

Today perfumes are everywhere: On perfumes on the high streets and perfume online

, in your face and up your nose, on the high paid necks of celebrity fashionistas and urban grunge gurus, and slapped around the throats of football and pop megastars. But at the end of the day they all seem to smell of nice sweet musty flowery citrusy niceness. What we need is some new smells; some unusual smells that make people's heads whip round and take notice, noses searching the air for the source of that surprising and tantalizing scent. Here are some suggestions:

Creosote

I know what you're thinking: What on earth is that? Creosote, otherwise known as pitch oil is widely used as a preservative for wood. With its musty smoky odor, those getting a whiff of this from your person would be immediately whisked back in their mind to walking through gardens in the summer and gasping at that strong familiar and strangely appealing smell in the air. It could be called 'Eau de Gardener.'

Toast

If you are suffering from a hangover after a late night of drinking or just having a long lie on a Saturday, there is one smell that will entice you out from under your duvet and through to the kitchen. Hot buttered toast is one of those smells which will make everyone hungry, and as a most easy snack to make is often smelt lingering in office kitchens and student halls after all that's left are crumbs. Maybe it could be called 'Toast to the Toast.'

The Sea

With a subtle mix of fresh air, salt and mild hint of fish and seaweed, the smell of the sea conjures memories of late evenings on the beach playing Frisbee, hot sunny holidays lazing under a parasol sipping cocktails from a coconut and brisk winter walks on a windswept and desolate beach. Smelling of this would make you feel alternative and rugged yet homely and fresh. Easy on the fish though. 'Forgotten Fisherman' is a possible name.

Success

The smell of success would be a desirable perfume indeed. Imagine walking into a job interview and having every member of the panel immediately getting a sense that you are the one they want. Or a bloke walking into a trendy bar and having every woman in the room eyeing him in a special way which is saved for only the most popular of pop stars and debonair entrepreneurs. Its name would have to be something like 'King of the Castle.'

I'm sure with one of these awesome new perfumes doused about your person you would be the talk of the town. So next time you go to wherever you go to buy perfume ask for some 'Forgotten Fisherman' aftershave or a large bottle of 'King of the Castle.' And when they say they don't stock it, ask them why not and list the reasons why they would be awesome.
