4 Worldwide Beaches You Should Visit
Whatever worldwide beaches take your fancy, travel insurance will have you covered.
Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia
Sydneys Bondi Beach not only has some nice surf, plenty of sand to lay your towel and a convenient location, not too far from Sydneys city centre, it is also a great spot to people watch and soak up the great atmosphere on a sunny Australian summer day. Cafes, restaurants and bars line the promenade behind the beach. The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition showcases interesting outdoor friendly artworks, which line the peninsulas of Bondi, around to Tamarama Beach, right through to Bronte Beach, transforming the pleasant walking path between these beaches. It is held around November annually.
Hat Rin, Ko Phan-ngan, Thailand
One of Thailands innumerable attractive swimming beaches, Hat Rin, on the island of Ko Phan-ngan goes through a transformation whenever there is a full moon. The full moon party here usually attracts well over 10,000 revellers. Hotels around Hat Rin are usually booked out during this time, with many party-goers coming over by boat from neighbouring Ko Samui, just for the party. Half moon parties have also sprung up, as well as full moon parties in other areas of Thailand, but for the original and the biggest, full moon on Hat Rin is the place to be. Fire eaters, jugglers, plenty of tasty thai food stalls and a huge full moon party sign, the letters being on fire themselves, set the scene for a lively evening. Ko Phan-ngan is located in southern Thailand, off the eastern coast in the Gulf of Thailand.
Santa Monica, Los Angeles, USA
Santa Monica has been a popular resort town for around a century. Historic ballrooms and carousels sit atop the local pier, which was built in 1909. Santa Monica Beach has been remembered in much contemporary popular culture. The rock band Everclear had a major hit with their song, Santa Monica. Santa Monica also captured the worlds attention as the backdrop for Baywatch, the most watched television show of all time. While you probably wont run into Pamela Anderson during your visit, you can most certainly sign up for a surf lesson, do some shopping along the third street promenade, or watch a couple of acts put on by local street performers.
Pink Sands Beach, Harbour Island, The Bahamas
Each type of beach offers a different experience and atmosphere. Weve seen party beaches, and activity and entertainment based beaches. The most idyllic, though, has been saved for last. This is the kind of place you visit to get away from it all. True to its name, this beach does indeed have pink sand. It also fortunately has plenty of peace and quiet for total relaxation. For those energetic enough to move up off their towel or beach chair, activities include diving, fishing, boating, snorkelling, and of course, very leisurely swimming! The Bahamas (and the visitor) are treated to a pleasant climate all year round.
