There are FOUR important tips you need to bear in your mind for successful dog training. I coined these tips as SSFF; meaning S- short, S- simple, F- fun and F- focus.
S is for short. You can train your dog daily if you so wish but you need to do this within a short period of time. Prolonged training is a total turn off. Spend like 30 minutes with your dog.
S is for simple. Don't let the dog training to be complicated. The simpler the training the more easily absorbed it is for your dogs to be schooled for obedience. Simple training like stand-sit commands helps the dog's mind to be part of the training. Teach one thing at a time and don't confuse your dog teaching so many commands at the same time.
F is for fun. It is important to note that when you are not in the mood to train your dog, it is better you shift it for another day. Training should be made fun as this will motivate your dog to enjoy it. Giving a dog boring training classes can make the dog to become aggressive towards the training.
F is for focus. Focusing your mind and that of your dog to the task at hand will create an effective and successful training class. Go to corners where there won't be distractions to the training class.
