Myopia or nearsightedness is one of medical conditions of the eyes that can be a hindrance for carrying out of activities

. There are five exercises that you can do for preventing a nearsighted eye.

Myopia is a condition or a vision defect wherein objects in short distances appear clear, while having an inability to see objects at far distances clearly. In medical terms, nearsightedness is the condition that occurs when the light that enters the eye focuses ahead of the retina making the objects at far distances blurred. However, you can treat myopia in natural ways through different eye exercises.

Here are some of the exercises that you can do anytime and anywhere.

Tracking your fingernail. You will simply follow the movement of your fingernail with your eyes. This particular exercise is an easy exercise in correcting the vision and improving the lenses of your eyes. This technique exercises the eye muscles and develops better eye-hand coordination. This can also largely prevent other visual defects.

Visualization. This is a very healthy exercise for the eye. This particular exercise helps you to relax the different muscles in your eyes, gain better focus, and improve your eyesight. Through visualization, it will stretch out your gaze to see far objects clearly and relax the crystalline lenses of the eyes.

Alternate Reading. If you are the type of person who reads a lot, this exercise is truly beneficial for your eyes. You need to read at different distances to relieve strain in your eyes after reading a long material. It will also make the crystalline lenses of the eyes more flexible and improve one's vision.

Eye Pressing. This particular exercise is beneficial in relieving your eyes of strain and fatigue. Manually pressing on the eye lowers the pressure, strain and fatigue on the eye. However, you must do this gently.

Focal Flexibility. This particular exercise utilizes the mind's eye to adjust the focus of your eyes. Nearsighted people tend to hold their focus too tight. Thus, this exercise can be very beneficial.

Prior the exercises listed above, it is also important to know the root cause of the condition and some of the factors that make the condition worse. It is wise for sufferers to know what caused their myopia and act on them. People who read and write excessively often have myopia. Other undesirable habits are watching the television in such close distance and using the computer for long period of time.

There are various exercises that can be applied to prevent the onset of nearsightedness or myopia. These exercises will relieve you the burden of not seeing far objects clearly. You can now improve your eyesight naturally!
