If you have a weight problem, I'm not hear to "come down" on you by any means. Losing weight can be a constant struggle if you don't know the general formula of what it takes to drop pounds.
What I want you to realize is this. Most of the reasons that people become overweight all stem from very basic eating habits that you can easily kick to the curb.
It's really just a matter of will power.
These methods that I'm about to explain have been successful for me and my clients repeatedly and I'm very confident that they can help you to reach your weight goal successfully.
1. I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but simply, eat less.
What I mean by this is to consume smaller portions.
Start a meal by filling your plate with only half of what you would normally expect and then see how you react. If you must, you can go back for seconds.
The same thing goes with snacks. If you think that you'll be tempted to overeat with a large bag of chips, start buying individual-sized chips or cookies.
Then, when you see the bottom of the bag, you won't feel as much regret (If any).
2. Don't be cruel and deprive yourself of your favorites.
We all have foods that we completely love, but know that we shouldn't have them very often.
Well, just because you're taking charge with your weight doesn't mean you have to go cold turkey!
Feel free to have just a spoonful of ice cream or one tiny slice of cake when you want it. It'll prevent you from going on a midnight raid and consuming a whole bag of chips from withdrawal.
3. Does fat-free also mean calorie-free? I don't think so.
Most of the time, fat-free foods make up for taste by adding more calories. That's quite a dirty trick isn't it?
So how will anyone know how to lose weight and fat when even the products are against them?
Just make sure that you read the nutrition labels of anything that claims to be "altered" for weight loss and avoid extra sugar to compensate for fat.
That's the best you can do against the food industry.
4. Slow down when you eat.
Your body actually has this internal clock that keeps track of how long you'll remain hungry after you begin eating and it's about 20 minutes. You can use this to your advantage.
Chew each bit of food around 20 times before you swallow it and you'll find your meal lasting closer to that 20 minutes and when the internal timer goes off, suddenly, you feel a little fuller.
5. Give alcohol a rest.
I like drinking a cold beer just as much as the next guy, but we all know that it's the leading culprit towards having a big gut. Heck, it's usually referred to as a "beer belly!"
Not only is it a bunch of empty calories, but many times there's added sugar that makes it even worse. Just say no if you don't have a reason to drink.
How to lose weight and fat isn't rocket science, but it usually isn't that easy without some self-discipline.
