5 Questions To Answer In Your Sales Letter
Powerful sales letter, emails, and other marketing materials can make or break your business
. Just by rewriting your sales letter to help it convert from one percent to two percent, you can increase your sales dramatically. If you want to improve your sales letters, make sure you answer these five questions in every marketing piece you write. It will get you better results.
1. What's in it for me (the customer)?
This is the most important question you will ever answer for your reader. He/she wants to know what this product will do for him/her. You want to write a benefit filled sales letter that shows the reader exactly how this product will fix his/her problem. Remember that benefits tell the reader what the product will do. Features tell them what the product is about. In other words, it describes what the product is, not what it does.
2. How will this product make my life better?
Your product must solve the problem of your reader. If it doesn't, it's the wrong product. Show them through case studies and stories how the product will improve your buyer's life. Weave this information into the sales letter and be as visual as possible.
3. Tell me, why I should trust you?
Credibility is important on the internet. Lose it, and your business won't survive. You must build credibility throughout the sales letter. One way to do this is to use testimonials. Just make sure they comply with the law. You don't want to run afoul of the law by using testimonials that violate it. Again, case studies and stories can help here, as well as your own personal experience. Make your sales letter personal. Really seek to connect with your reader.
4. What happens if I say no?
The answer here should be obvious. Tell your reader exactly what will happen if he/she doesn't buy. For example: "When you buy today you will also receive XXX. This offer will only be available until XXX." Tell them what the result will be if they don't buy.
5. Will I be stuck with your product?
You want to offer a complete money back guarantee for your reader. Show your reader you will take all the risk in the situation. Make your reader believe there is absolutely no risk involved in buying your product. The longer the guarantee you provide, the more confidence your reader will have in your offer so make sure your guarantee is for as long a period as possible. Most will never take advantage of your offer. Emphasize this to your reader.
If you want to write an effective sales letter, then it's crucial that you answer all these questions in your sales letter, as well as your all your other marketing materials. It will increase your conversions and sales and improve your business with very little effort.
