A lot of people are getting away from the traditional piano lessons with a teacher
, and want to just teach there selves the piano on their own. I did the same thing and I have 5 tips for you if you want to teach yourself piano.
1. The first thing I did when I wanted to learn the Piano was I started doing exercises that would get my fingers and hands used to hitting the keys. There are many easy exercises you can do and they are not much to learn but you have to start getting your hands moving up and down the keyboard as soon as possible.
2. The second thing I say you should do if you want to teach yourself piano is go online and learn how to form scales. This is the foundation to you piano playing, the scale determines what key the song is in and from the scale you are in tells you what chords you can use or not use.
3. The third thing is to learn your major chords, minor chords, diminished chords, and augmented chords. This is very easy to learn after you learn scales because the scales is what will teach you how to form all these chords. You may not understand this now but if you look up these things online you can find all this information free.
4. The fourth thing to do is to learn chord progressions mainly for the beginner you need to learn your 1 4 5 chord progression. You have to know what progressions are and what they mean.
5. The fifth suggestion I would give you is after you have learned all of these thing you really can't find much more information online that will teach you what to do with all this information. You can start playing with it and try to learn and figure out how to put it all together. But you really have to invest in online piano lessons. You don't want to spend all your time figuring out what to practice when you can buy lessons online and they will tell you everything you need to know. And from there you just start practicing what they teach you. You will learn a hundred times faster if you do this.
