Okay, you've decided to join and promote a new residual income affiliate program

1. Believing the hyped income projections

Yes you can make a lot of money with quality residual income affiliate programs, but the projections of wealth may take more than a few months to achieve. Even the highest quality programs take time to develop true residual income streams. Hype can help sell a program, but it will usually take more than wishes to make the big bucks materialize.


2. Expecting quick success without any work.

If you are new, despite the training provided, you may need to learn some new skills. If you have the determination to dig in and actually follow the training and learn the new skills, you stand an excellent chance of success. If you expect everything to work on its own with no effort on your part, the odds are you will be disappointed. Most programs require consistent steady work on your part to drive traffic to them.

3. Fuzzy goals

If your program comes with its own web site you're all set rights? Well maybe not. If your website is the same as all the other affiliates out there, how are you going to differentiate yourself? What are you going to do to make yourself stand out among your fellow affiliates? In many cases you will be better off with your own web site. You stand a better chance of getting ranked well in the search engines and gaining that highly desirable free traffic that comes from a top search engine ranking. Learning how to get ranked well is just one of the skills you will need in the long run to make the

big money you want.


5. Giving up.

The biggest failing for most marketers pursuing residual income affiliate programs is failing to persist. There truly is gold to be had online, but it requires a concerted effort and a willingness to learn and perform over an extended period of time. If you have an upline, be sure to ask for help. Read and research other marketers. Discover better ways to do the steps you are already doing and keep your eyes out for new ideas that will help you master your program.
