Winners pursue their dreams with unwavering passion
. They are not likely to wake up at 75 years of age, realizing that they have not done anything significant in their lives simply because they were afraid to fail. And even if they do fail, they still have the mindset of a winner - knowing and being comfortable with the fact that they always give it their all.
No matter how you resist it, change it, hide from it, or go with it, life still goes on - it may not turn out exactly how you want it, but winners are different, because they always view every day as new opportunities to try again.
So what are some of the qualities that make a winner?
They don't give up on the things they believe in. If all the famous people and inventors gave up at the onset of their trials, then we wouldn't be enjoying much of the technology and information which are staples in our lives. The lesson is - never give up - because you never know how close you are to success. And when you give up, you will never see your dreams become a reality
They maintain a positive attitude. Only you can change yourself - no one can do it for you. Happiness, contentment and fulfilment all emanate from within us. So if you find that urge to be pessimistic, realize that your happiness does not really come from other people or things - you have to simply change the way you view life. You can never be a winner if you choose to be negative.
They endure the pain. Winners know that the best way to succeed is by learning to embrace pain when needed. Stop refusing to do necessary things just because you are afraid you might get hurt, or that you may hurt some people. Sometimes, especially in business, you must ruffle a few feathers to get a point across. But if it's for the betterment of the situation, never be afraid to tackle the pain that comes with winning. Remember, pain isn't always a bad thing; sometimes it's just another step toward personal growth.
They ignore the naysayers. Stop believing other people when they tell you that you can't do it! They do not know how strong, determined or capable you are - so only you should be able to know what you can achieve. In the end, others' opinions of you do not matter - what matters is your opinion of yourself and your capabilities.
They accept responsibility for their situation. There is nothing more annoying than a person who keeps on blaming others for the situation she's in. Realise that it's YOUR life - so only you are the one who should be 100% responsible for its outcome. Winners do not lean on or rely on others. They share their joys and successes with others, but when things go wrong, they know that things will never have gone awry had they not allowed it to. Responsibility takes courage and strength - but it's what winners are made of.
They take action and plant the right seeds. Many good things can be done in a day if you don't keep on postponing that day for tomorrow. Procrastination is the common cause of non-fulfilment. Remember, you may not have a tomorrow, so why not start today? Always be conscious about planting good seeds today, because it's the only way to make a good harvest for the future. Do good, be good - it's the best insurance against failure.
They don't lose themselves in the midst of conflict. Winners never try to be someone they're not just to please others. If they cannot be accepted by the people around them, then they simply just look for better people to surround themselves with, rather than change to please other people. There is joy in being unique - it's what makes the world a better place to be in. Remember, stay true to who you are because it takes courage to stand out in the midst of so much opposition and criticism.
