Planning to study abroad? It is time to take a step back and think wisely what you aim to achieve and where will you get maximum return on your investment. 1) What're your Career goals: The first and most important step is to find out is what you want to achieve when you go abroad. 6) Identify your dream & safe colleges: While shortlisting colleges to apply, keep in mind to shortlist not only some dream colleges (which rank in top 10 but tough to get admission), but also some safe colleges. These safe colleges may not rank high but assure good programme, student life and placements.

7) Aim for scholarship: Once decided on which colleges to send your application, try your best to find about what scholarships they're offering, its eligibility and how to obtain it. Then try your best to get that.

8) Perform well: Now that you have made up your mind on which universities to apply, aim for a good GPA/CGPA, good GMAT/ GRE/ SAT/ IELTS / TOEFL score, strong personal statement or Statement of Purpose and a short and crisp resume.
