A Checklist For Your Parcel Delivery
Sending parcels is becoming much more popular these days as many people buy as well
as sell goods online and these are often sent and received through the mail as opposed to going to a local shopping centre. A lot of home businesses and entrepreneurs will be looking to send parcels internationally to expand their business but sending international parcels can be tricky if you havent done it before, especially if you are sending large orders which could quickly rack up your costs.
The first thing youll need to do is get all necessary supplies such as parcel tape and wrapping paper. These are heavy duty and so should be strong and durable enough to survive the delivery process. If you have smaller items there are sealable mailing bags made of plastic that have a tamperproof seal to ensure maximum security of your delivery, unless you are shipping something soft such as clothing it is recommended that you use a box that fits inside your mailing bag for extra protection during the delivery.
Once you have got your supplies youll need to pad or insulate your box, this can be done by using some bubble wrap, polystyrene chips or for a quick and simple solution: scrunched up newspaper. The aim is to provide cushioning so that if your parcel were dropped or bumped then the content inside will be protected by this barrier of protection.
With your parcels properly packed and wrapped the next step is to get the labelling done, labels indicate who the parcel should be sent to but you also should make sure your details are on there too. Having sender details on your parcel means that if there are any problems or reasons for your parcel not to be delivered then your shipping agent will have an address they can send the parcel back to.
With international parcel delivery youll need to make sure you fill out any relevant customs declaration forms, the most common is the CN22 form which is needed for any deliveries leaving the EU and states what the parcel contains as well as the value of the item too.
When choosing a shipping agent you may want to choose a courier over the regular postal service especially if you are sending expensive or fragile items. A courier or dedicated parcel delivery service are available for deliveries that may be heavier or larger or even if you just want the added levels of care and speed that a courier can offer.
