The larger rays pierce the skin deeper and causes less damage to the upper layer called epidermis.

However, this treatment has some side-effects attached to it, like the reddening of the treated area or swelling. Therefore, it is always better to try the treatment on a small part of the ski so to know the effects of the laser beams.
