In the heat of the moment when we face a breakup with a loved one, most of us add fuel to the fire by doing things which are strictly taboo if you want to get your ex back. Requiring the least time to create some irreparable damage, these are gross errors, committed usually within the next few of days after you have been deserted. The mistakes do not seem to stop - as you carry on making more and more mistakes which further your chances to get your ex back even more.
Go through the list of ten taboos given below and chances are that you have already committed a few of them. If yes, stop and retract your steps to get your ex back:
1. Stop the blame game at once. There is hardly any point in calling your ex names and getting angry over the situation. It does not help to get your ex back.
2. The second taboo is never to push your ex against the wall. Instilling guilt, emotional blackmailing, etc may provide quick returns but then they would be temporary. No body likes to work under coercion. This can never help you get your ex back.
3. Stop building castles in the air and give your ex fresh hopes of change. This is a promise that both of you know you cannot keep. There are many traits which are inherent in you and you cannot change them. The most you can do is to improve your behavior or some attitudes. However, it is too early to promise your ex even that. Try to think of more plausible ways to get your ex back.
4. Love is based on irrational emotions. So trying to put the matter in logical perspective cannot yield any result. At this phase, both of you are emotionally charged. To get your ex back, use logic at a later stage. Remember you can still think and act logically, even when you are in love.
5. Please do not beg or plead with your ex to stay back or return. Remember there is life after ex - you do not want to feel like a scum on earth just because your ex left you. It does nothing to get your ex back - on the contrary it makes you look and feel small.
6. This is not the time to profess your undying love for your ex. When it was time, you goofed up. Wait for the future if you want to get your ex back.
7. Do not play the sympathy card with your ex. It might make your ex feel sorry for you, but it cannot help you to get your ex back. Your 'lost in the woods' looks really mean nothing at this point in time.
8. Do not involve any third party in the scene. Close friends and family may use their pressures to get your ex back, but such impulsive actions do not usually last. The desire to get back to you should come from within.
9. Gifts, cards, flowers provide no solace to your ex who might well be in an angry or dejected mood. Such overtly pathetic gestures simply aggravate the situation further. Keep quite for a change and wait till the heat subsides. That is the right way to get your ex back.
10. Reminding your ex of the good times you have had also make no sense. He or she would feel needlessly pushed. Of course your ex remembers all of them. But he or she also remembers the reasons why they left you and such thoughts are occupying the mind more than anything else. If you want to get your ex back, give him or her time to think whether the decision was right or wrong. You have no role to play in changing the mindset.
