A traditional esthetician can only do so much to help the appearance and feel of your skin. However if you visit a facility that is of a medical nature you can be treated for any number of conditions of the face, such as broken capillaries, redness and blotchiness, swelling, and brown spots.

However, there are some treatments that are considered standard at these medical establishments. You may have been to day spas more than once in your life but have a hard time imagining what they would like with a clinical side to them. The two are different in some ways but similar in others. Medical spas have more of a formal clinical aspect to them. Upon entering one you may feel more like you are there to see a doctor for a health concern as opposed to being pampered for the day.

There are plenty of spas that are oriented towards a medicinal atmosphere and menu that still offer services that are geared towards the relaxation and rejuvenation of their clients. If this is what you desire, then look for one that offers such services as body treatments, facial masks, and massage therapy. Plenty of these places have a wellness slant to them, and not just a clinical one. One that is geared towards both medical help and alternative health will offer to its clients such services as acupuncture, naturopathic doctor consultations, and nutritional counseling.
