The starting years

The company was started in the 1900s by the three men named above. As a new brand, the company created only one model known as Rouge Et Noir that was released in 1909.


Changing the name

After 1910, the company manufactured a new model that was named Montblanc. The model was named after the White Mountain peak in France. After the success of this brand, the company changed its name to Montblanc keeping in mind the popularity of the brand and the height of the peak.

Launch of the star

After the popularity of the Montblanc pen model, the next pen that was released was the Star. The Star model is till date called the Snowflake globe across. This pen is considered to be one of the most valuable pens and it is one of the most sought after pens even now.

Changing names

After the launch of the some successful models, the company experienced growth and popularity. In 1934, the company decided to change their name again to Simplo. Till 1977, they stuck with the same name, when it was sold to Dunhill Corp and they were known as Montblanc.

Expanding the product range

Soon after the success of every Montblanc pen range, the owners decided to expand their line of products which was till then limited to fine pens. The company started to produce many more luxury products such as watches and jewelries which became equally popular. The company is now owned by the Richmond group.

The brand continues to add many more pens to its collections such as the special edition pens, the limited edition pens, the etoile pens, the female line of pens and many more.
