As with many capital cities around the world, London is considered to be the number one place to visit in England

. The business centre, cultural centre, attraction centre; as the capital city of England, London boasts such a vast array of different reasons to visit, it would be understandable for a trip to the city to be one that costs a considerable amount of money, in regards to travel, accommodation and spending money.

Fortunately, this does not need to be the case as long as sufficient planning has been carried out beforehand.

It seems that whichever travel agent one steps into at the moment, London breaks are being offered as their current promotion. It may be a one day shopping trip to the city from a town nearby, or it could be a weekend break from a town at the other end of the country. Either way, taking advantage of one of these deals is very often one of the cheapest ways to actually travel to (and stay in, where applicable) London.

Should one of these London breaks be considered, it is important that the break is not just booked immediately and the full details are received so research can be carried out on the travel and accommodation. Particularly in regards to the accommodation, some travel agents will use cheaper hotels so that they can make more of a profit when selling the break. Although these hotels will usually be suitable to many, it is important that the details of the hotel are fully understood, so to ensure that it meets the standards expected and is not located too far away from where is actually wanted to be visited in London.

If one of the many London breaks available is not chosen, then there are other cheap ways to visit and stay in the city. For instance, in regards to transport, although traveling by train is by far the quickest option, taking a coach is considerably more cost efficient. It may take twice as long to reach the destination and may not be as comfortable or spacious as a train, but for those on a budget, it is the ideal way to travel to London from anywhere around the country.

Choosing an accommodation in London can be particularly problematic if needing to adhere to a budget, but assuming that hostels with shared washing facilities are not being included in a search (these accommodation types are more than suitable for many, especially as they are extremely cheap, but as they are so often aimed at younger travelers, they can be somewhat daunting for older visitors), then there are several budget hotels available all over the city.

Budget hotel chains are popular throughout the United Kingdom and as they do not offer many additional aspects other than a comfortable bed and clean bathroom, they can keep their rates low, meaning that a night in a budget hotel in London can be at least half the price of a standard hotel in a similar location.

It is so easy to get carried away when booking a trip to London, but as there is so much to see and do in the city, there are ways to travel and places to stay to suit all different budget sizes, meaning a trip to London can be as cheap or as expensive as one wants it to be.
