A Quick Look at the Samsung Diva S7070

, but that does not mean they have slowed down the production of mobile phones. In fact, right after their Genio/Corby line, the company is back targeting the younger mobile phone crowd. This time, they are also going for gender-specific; the Diva is clearly the young ladies mobile phone, features a sleek formed touch screen layout and a textured diamond-patterned back casing; the device combines style and form easily. Compared to the Chocolate Going for the female market puts the Samsung Diva S7070 right up against other made for women phones, most notably, the BL20 Chocolate. While the Chocolate Touch is more similar to the Diva in terms of looks (as both are touch screen devices), it is the sleek sliding BL20 that has gotten the attention of women. Side by side, the two devices deliver a different blend of sexy appeal. Where the BL20 is more sleek form and solid colors delivers the air of a mysterious beauty; the Diva on the other hand has that sweet, charming appeal with its brighter colors and wider form. Without a doubt, the Chocolate is the sexier device of the two, but there are those who would prefer the Divas louder charm and appeal. Phone Features This mobile phone comes with a 2.8 inch resistive touch screen display. The 320 x 240 resolution is good for a GSM device, and with a color depth of 16 million colors, the screen is able to display pictures clearly. Speaking of pictures, the built-in 3.15 mega pixel camera does a fine job at taking clear, 2048 x 1536 pixel images. The auto focus helps a lot in taking images with busy back grounds, but the phone could have certainly used LED flash. At 101 x 54.8 x 13.4 mm and 94 grams, the phone is small, compact and very lightweight; easy for women to carry without being burdened by the device. It is also impressive how Samsung managed to squeeze in so many features in such a nice small, shape. The battery is a standard lithium-ion rechargeable unit that has a capacity of 960 mAh. The capacity may seem a little small, but at full power, the battery can keep the device running for up to 800 hours on standby and 10 hours of continuous talk time. The 2G Diva Overall, the Samsung Diva S7070 is a good mobile device. It would have been a great smart phone were it not for the lack of 3G capabilities. The added connectivity of 3G does wonders for integrated web features such as the applications in the Diva. The Facebook and MySpace applications are a little less fun and enjoyable due to the limitations of GPRS and EDGE. Having HSDPA and wireless LAN support makes so much of a difference that this phone really deserves a second version much like what Samsung did with the Genio Touch. The Lindy is basically an updated Genio Touch with both 3G and WiFi support. So far, no release date has been confirmed for this device. Expect it to arrive by the third quarter of 2010.
