The internet is a giant group therapy, club or acceptance vehicle to find like-minded people

. I love that people who obsess about almost anything find those just as passionate as themselves and the process can go forward. Whether it is science, animals, space, cooking, scrap booking, technical advances, gaming or movies. The world of science is progressing faster as those like-minded people come together for advancement and change.

The American Vacuum Society is a not-for-profit society founded in 1954 and a branch of the American Institute of Physics. As Wikipedia states, "AVS (American Vacuum Society) has approximately 5000 members worldwide from academia, governmental laboratories and industry. AVS publishes through the American Institute of Physics the Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology (JVST A and B), which is devoted to peer-reviewed articles, and Surface Science Spectra (SSS), which publishes articles with reference spectra of technological and scientific interest. AVS has 10 technical divisions and 2 technical groups." They discuss pertinent information to the advancement of the vacuum an extremely important vehicle with many industrial applications. Without the internet, how would they be able to communicate and discuss their findings and discoveries with like-minded people? Work on the Welch pump or the bush pump or many other pumps and applications are improved and added upon.

The internet brings people together to solve problems, interface, explore and give hope. There are people of like minds that together can solve many problems and advance science or simply help solve Halo.

I love to gather online with fellow scrap bookers, gardeners, chefs and quilters and exchange ideas, thoughts and project tips. We trade secrets, encouragement and the love of the hobbies. If ever I am out of ideas I hope online and get fired up again to do more, try more and be more with the things that I love. There is value in numbers and courage in crowds. I may not be the inventor of the vane vacuum pump or welch vacuum pump, but i can turn out a pretty cool quilt and make a beautiful fillet mignon.
