Colors was launched on the 21st of July, 2008 as a flagship brand of Viacom18

. This channel combines emotions and variety, and offers an entire spectrum of entertainment choices to its viewers. It has programmes ranging from fiction to reality shows and drama series. Some of the most popular shows on the channel include Bigg Boss, Indias got talent, Balika Vadhu, and Madhubala, among others.

Colors Bigg Boss is a reality show on Colors TV based on the original Big Brother format. The concept of the show is built on a number of contestants living together in a house who are isolated from the rest of the world. The housemates are primarily celebrities with the exception of one non-celebrity, called 'aam admi', contestant who is selected via auditions. Three housemates are nominated every week by fellow housemates who then have to face a public vote. The contestants with most votes remain and the one with least votes is evicted. The housemates are watched over by a mysterious person known as Bigg Boss, whose presence in the house is only through his voice.

Indias Got Talent is a reality TV show on Colors TV which features people from all parts of India who showcase their talent in front of a panel of judges. It follows the format of the globally popular show Got Talent and is the first large-scale televised entertainment show in India. The show travels to different cities across India in search of interesting local talent. It has no age limit for contestants and has people showcasing varied talents like singing, music, dance, impersonation, puppetry, and illusion. Contestants in the show perform in front of the three judges and a studio audience. One contestant is eliminated every week and elimination is based on the number of votes that contestants get from viewers. The one contestant who manages to entice audiences till the end wins the contest and receives a cash prize of Rs 50,00,000/-. During the semifinal and final rounds, viewers vote for their favourite contestants. The show is judged by director-choreographer Farah Khan, actress Kirron Kher, actor-producer Malaika Arora-Khan, and director Karan Johar.

Madhubala, a daily soap aired from Monday to Friday at 8.30pm, is the story of a girl born on the sets of a Bollywood film who grows up in a Mumbai chawl. It is a gripping story of middle class aspirations, values and desires, set against the backdrop of Bollywood. Mesmerizingly beautiful, Madhubala is a girl with simple dreams, who is compelled to act. Surrounded by people working as extras, stuntmen, and sidekicks in the Hindi film industry, she has no aspirations of entering the glamorous industry herself. However, fate has something else in store for her, including a chance meeting, which ends up in a love affair with the superstar RK.
