A Unique Stickers Teachers Approach To Learning
The life of school children is simple
The life of school children is simple. They love to learn new things and are excited to try out new ideas. To children, everything is just something new that they must experience. In fact, the energy inside a classroom full of children is so high that teaching them requires not only skill from the teacher but also great patience. Teaching children and guiding them to achieve greater heights requires ingenuity in part of the teacher. One example of an ingenious practice is giving out awards like school badges, certificate of achievement templates or stickers teacher issued - to students who did a good job.
Awards can come in different forms like prizes, stamps, certificates, privileges, stickers and many more. Regardless of the type a teacher uses, there is no denying that the effort definitely makes impact on the life of a learning child. There are three aspects in a childs learning experience that is readily affected when they receive awards. These are their self-esteem, their sense of responsibility and their competitiveness.
Boosting Self-Esteem - A kid loves to be centre of attention, especially when they are in a group, like a class. When a child achieves something, like a perfect score in a short quiz or task, it is important that his efforts are rewarded. Every time the teacher gives to them the impression that they are being recognised for their achievement, their self-esteem improves.
Studies show that the more a person is recognised, the higher his self-esteem becomes, and the more successful he gets. When that is applied to a classroom setting, the children will surely have a wonderful learning experience. But, as a side note, teachers should give awards only when the situation truly calls for it. Overdoing it defeats the purpose.
A Sense of Responsibility - If a child gets a firsthand experience of how good it feels to receive an award or be recognised for a job well done, the young learner will try to seek to repeat the wonderful experience. The student will then hit the books, study hard and work diligently on his assignments. More often than not, the results are very positive. The student's goal is then gratified.
To the untrained eye, it may seem that the effort of the student is only to satisfy a need to be recognised. In an actual classroom setting, however, this is often not the case. The advantages extend farther. The student becomes more accustomed to how fun it is to learn new things. Eventually, with or without the promised award, it becomes easier for the student to continue to study.
Becoming Competitive - Competition is a good thing when put into practice inside the classroom. A sense of competition can bring out the best in people. That is a fact. The students within a class should be encouraged to compete with each other so that their performance will be recognised and awarded by the teacher. If overseen properly by the teacher, the students will become strive to become achievers.
A student who develops competitiveness becomes aware of his capacity and his limits. If the learning experience of a student is enforced properly, the student will work to overcome his weaknesses, enabling him to explore his full potential.
In a lot of cases, teachers use very simple stickers and school badges to serve as motivation. This is often dubbed as the "stickers teachers approach" to teaching. It is one of the easiest ways to say "congratulations," or "well done." It definitely lasts longer than a pat on the back. Certificates of recognition are also widely used by teachers to their students because it puts detail to what the students have achieved.
To make it easier for teachers, a
certificate of achievement template is very handy in the task. The teacher does not have to spend a lot of time in creating a custom certificate for every little achievement. There are certificate templates that teachers can simply modify all the time.
In summary, achievement certificates and
school badges, among many others, are a great way of boosting motivation for children at school. It is arguably the best approach in improving the learning curve among the students without putting a great investment. And there is no better way to call it than the "
stickers teachers approach to learning."
