My friends thought it would be funny if they entered me in a sponsored race, it's not the normal running a few miles kind of race, there is a 15 mile cycling section too and to top it all, we have to dress up as our favourite cartoon character from our childhood. At first I thought it was a wind up but then I received a letter through the post with all the information about the race and when it will take place. I couldn't believe what I was reading, the race was in 3 months time, I didn't have a bike, and I wasn't physically ready or even mentally prepared. As there is nothing that I can do now, I'll just have to start my training as soon as possible but first I need to buy myself one of those new Raleigh bikes in London. My friends won't get away with this; they have put me in a very difficult situation so I have thought of the best way to get them back. I will get them to buy a bike so they train with me, that way I don't suffer the pain on my own and I'm hoping it will teach them a lesson. I really don't know how I will be ready for the race in 3 months; I will have to do some intense training during the weekends and on my days off. I also will try to take a week off work before the race so I can prepare properly and be a 100% ready to compete.
