A look at the new mobile phone from Nokia the E5

Nokias newest addition to their range, the E5, is a smartphone that offers the user the ultimate in e mail and messaging facilities whilst maintaining a high specification in other areas, making it perfect for both business and personal users.

Looking at the design of the handset, the handset is as good looking as a phone displaying a full Qwerty keypad can be. The 115 x 58.9 x 12.8 mm dimensions are relatively compact, without sacrificing the key size and spacing of buttons on the keypad. The corners of the chassis are neatly curved and a stylish metallic strip separates the screen from the keypad. This same metallic effect can be found on the battery cover on the back, and it certainly makes the handset look a little more top end than it actually is. The four row Qwerty keypad is beneath the screen, and when composing messages it feels well designed and large enough to be comfortable, but yet small enough to appeal to the customer more focused on the looks of a handset. The screen on the E5 measures 2.36". This TFT display can show up to 256 thousand colours and is capable of showing a QVGA resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. As the display is not a touch screen, a central navigational button is located beneath the screen.

The Nokia E5 incorporates a micro SD card slot, allowing the user to expand the memory up to 32GB. Such a large amount of memory is ideal for the user who like to take advantage of the phones multimedia features. Audio playback is great on this handset, a whole host of formats can be handled, including MP3, WMA and eAAC+. Nokias choice to include a stereo jack plug is a good one, meaning the user can select their own choice of headphones to use on the unit. These headphones also act as the antenna when using the E5's in built RDS FM tuner, great for a change from your own music files. The user also has access to Nokias music store 3.0, ideal for downloading our favourite tracks and albums. The Nokia E5 also boasts a good camera facility. Sticking with the trusted 5 mega pixel format found on many phones, picture clarity is improved by using a system called Extended Depth of Field, or EDoF for short. This concentrates on enhancing the picture without physically increasing the amount of pixels used. The Nokia E5 is a handset that will appeal to Business and personal users alike, thanks to great connectivity and messaging coupled with excellent multimedia facilities. A stylish look tops off what is all together a great phone package.

The Nokia E5 and the HTC Wildfire White are coming soon.
