A simple exercise for chakra meditation

People in the West like to connect and integrate chakras into Reiki. In the human body, there are seven chakras from the head to feet. Working with your chakras helps you to sense energy in yourself and others. The more you work with chakras, the easier it is to activate them and keep them in balance.Mostly, chakras are meditated in groups especially in the Reiki class but you can also do them on your own.Only by regular practice, you can know more and keep the energy flow constant in the body.

Steps to follow for meditating chakras:

1. Sit comfortable in a calm and clean place.

2. Take deep breath and concentrate on it in and out to release tensions from the mind and body.

3. Start the meditation from the root (perineum) chakra. Imagine red color and focus for couple of minutes on the root chakra. This focus on root chakra will create a relationship between you and earth.

4. Next is the sacral chakra, which is between the genitals and navel. Imagine orange color and focus for couple of minutes on the sacral chakra.Feel yourself bathed in creative juices.

5. Move to your solar plexus chakra (above your navel and below your chest).Envisage on yellow color and remain at the chakra for a while. This will create a unique power in your body and mind.

6. Next, move to heart chakra, (center part of the chest).Visualize the color green. Stay at your heart chakra for a few minutes. Experience love and compassion.

7. Next is the throat chakra, which is related to throat. Imagine blue color and focus for couple of minutes on the throat chakra.This will create and let you sense a unique vibration in the body.

8. Sixth chakra, focus on third eye chakra (forehead [center part]). Visualize and focus on indigo color and concentrate on the chakra for few minutes.See your vision expanding.

9. Next, move upwards to the crown chakra, (top of the head).Imagine violet color and focus for couple of minutes on the crown chakra. This will create a bond with the spirit and make you sense freeness.

10. Let the energy flow out from your crown and down over your body. As the energy comes down from your crown, it surrounds you in a shimmering protective light

11. Then, gradually feel the energy flowing upwards from root chakra to crown chakra.
