THE COMPANY
Let's get this out of the way right now. Is ACN a legitimate company?
Many acn reviews answer this question with a resounding YES!
ACN has been in business since 1993 and now does business in more than 20 countries.
Did you know that out of all the telecommunication MLM companies that have popped up over the years that ACN is, hands down, the most successful? Now that is quite an accomplishment.
THE PRODUCT
When you are evaluating any product, you really want to make sure that it fits 2 essential criteria.
1. High Demand
2. Low Supply
ACN markets telecommunication services like phone, long distance, cell phone and video phone service. Is there high demand here? Duh! Of course there is. Who doesn't use these services? I really like the fact that ACN markets a product that fills a high demand need in the marketplace.
It's in category number 2 that ACN takes a hit on my score card. While, telecommunications is a high demand market, it's also EXTREMELY competitive.
First of all, you've got all the traditional competition like the big telephone companies, cable TV, etc. Then you've got all the other MLM companies that have marketed these exact services.
ACN reps are constantly battling cell phone companies waging price wars, cable companies giving specials and phone companies competing for business.
THE BUSINESS
One other spot that acn reviews tend to go sour is the startup fee. Some complain that the $500 startup to become an ACN rep is just too much money considering you really don't get anything in return for the investment.
I agree with these critics to a point. $500 is a lot to pay without getting much in return. But on the other hand, you couldn't even start up a hot dog stand for less than $500 so for a business that could potentially give you the freedom you've always wanted, it's really a small price to pay.
Now, lets take a look at some items that many acn reviews tend to ignore.
PROBLEM 1 - Very slim profit margins.
Because the industry is so competitive, prices are always getting slashed to beat the next competitor. This means that there can NOT be much profit margin. This is a BIG problem in with the ACN compensation plan as there needs to be enough money to pay distributors on many levels.
So what does that mean to you as a business builder? Does it mean you can't make money with ACN? No, it just means that in order to make any considerable amount of residual income, you' will have to build an extremely large team. Why not make more money with less people?
Marketing with a company that pays more money per customer, will allow you to get to where you want to be with less people. This means you can hit your goals faster and easier.
PROBLEM 2 - Contracts make it very difficult to acquire customers. Even when you find the people that can benefit from sometimes lower priced ACN services, a great majority of these people will be locked in contracts with their current service provider.
This means that in order to make a sell, you'll have to 1st) make the presentation, 2nd) follow up for 12 months to 2 years to wait for the customers current contract to expire.
Seems like a lot of work for the small amount of commissions you'll get from all that effort.
CONCLUSION
I've just given you solid reasons why I personally, decided not to join up with this business opportunity.
What acn has accomplished over the years is seriously worthy of admiration and praise. They have decent products and work in a market that has HUGE demand. If you build an ACN business, they will pay you for your results.
If you are currently building an ACN business or decide to grow one today, you can make a lot of money with this project IF you know how to connect with mass numbers of targeted prospects.
