Depending on the type of scar, the treatment can be suggested. The common scar treatments and therapies include punch excision, collagen therapy, laser resurfacing, grafting and chemical peels. But before going in for any of these therapies, it is advisable to meet a good doctor. In fact you should get a patch test done before going in for a full-fledged treatment.

The general course of any treatment or therapy takes about 4 to 12 months to show its effective results. But there are certain scars that are not easily removed. For such scars, either you need to prolong the treatment or go in for some other treatment or therapy.

Predominantly, almost all the treatments dealing with the removal of acne scars involve the removal of skin peel that bears the scar. Take for instance the laser therapy. In Laser therapy laser beams are used to remove the layers of the skin that actually bear the acne scar. Generally, laser therapy is best for the scars that are present in the deep layers of skin. After removing the scary peels of the skin, the doctor will give the patient a collagen treatment to fill up all the fissures that have been created in the skin in due course of treatment or due to the scars.

Thus having a scar-free skin is something that is not difficult to achieve. All you need is a good guidance and a safe treatment.
