Can you learn how to adapt to a new, sudden situation or does it come by heart
?
I was self-studying in Hakkapedia when I saw some articles regarding safety. I started pondering whether one could prepare somehow better for the sudden situation.
The standard reflex time for a person is quite short and therefore one can only hope that when something happens, you would be ready.
Human brains work on a similar pattern than a monkeys brain when i.e. collision takes place. In that moment you cant really think rationally and you need to just go with the situation and do what you know best from memory.
When you are driving a car, these situations come quite often. There might be something on the road or you might have bad tyres and hit hard weather, basically anything can happen when you are on behind the wheel.
There is a great blog in Hakkapedia called hakka where you can post your observations from roads and the driving conditions around the country. When you observe and post your observations you will also be noted as a blogger. This is a great initiative because this way the information is all the time up to date and it comes from real people who have been affected by the condition.
When you face a situation where something unexpected happens like the roads get very slippery or there is some sort of an object on the road that you cant dodge, your memory kicks in. What you learned by heart and muscle is what you do when something happens. Other issues that affect the situations are naturally i.e. the tyres you are using and the condition of the car. These are the everyday stuff you should keep well maintained in order to adapt to a new and sudden situation.
Overall I would say that if you have the basic stuff like tyres, car and awareness all you can and should do in a sudden situation is to keep calm and try to avoid the situation as good as possible. After the situation you should report it to for example Hakkapedia in order to warn other people.
